About Mike
About Mike

Who is Mike Collins?

Mike’s career started early, helping out in his family’s country pub, where a simple meat raffle poster sparked an interest in how ideas can bring people together and drive action.

Today Mike is a senior leader with 20 years’ experience across government, sport and for-purpose organisations in Sydney, London and Newcastle.

He works across organisational performance, strategy, engagement and communications, helping organisations get clear on what matters, align teams around priorities and deliver outcomes that make a real difference to communities. His work recently earned him the 2025 Brand Revitalisation Award at the Australian Marketing Institute Awards.

Mike’s experience spans:

  • Organisational strategy and performance

  • Corporate planning and reporting

  • Community engagement and customer experience

  • Communications, marketing and brand

  • Stakeholder and government relations

  • Team leadership and culture

  • Planning, delivery and continuous improvement

He has worked closely with executive teams, boards, government agencies and community stakeholders, and has experience in local government, including Woollahra Council. He understands how to navigate complex organisations, balance competing priorities and deliver practical, accountable outcomes.

Mike recently completed further study through RMIT University exploring how artificial intelligence can support better decision-making, organisational planning and service delivery.

Mike is focused on helping organisations work better connecting people, simplifying complexity and turning strategy into practical action.

Outside work you’ll usually find Mike running, gardening, or spending time with his partner Sarah, son Morris, cats Burrito and Taco, and dog Kuma in Newcastle.
